3. Test on vocabulary Words To Know from “Lemon Brown and “The Lie”.

4. When finished read the Introduction to Nonfiction pg. 43 & 44.

Tues. class

1. Fill out contract for Oct. book.

2. KWL about the Civil War pg. 45 small groups then share.

HW Enter vocab. words & definitions for “Reflections on the Civil War” into LA notebook.

Pgs. 47-53 and complete the “Words to Know” exercise pg. 56.

Wed. class.

1. Narratives returned – published draft due Friday 10/9.

2. Review vocabulary. Turn in late contracts.

3. Read “Reflections on the Civil War” selection pg. 47-53.

4. Answer question on Civil War # 1-6.

HW Finish anything from class you didn’t get to.

Thur. class

1. Discuss answers, anecdotes, perceptions.

2. Quickwrite pg. 54 – choose 1 of the 3 choices. Make it look authentic and use dialect, colloquial expressions, and description in the writing. Finished product due Wed. 10/14.

HW Published drafts due tomorrow – all parts must be handed in again!!!
