Mon. class

1. Extra credit for signed syllabus or planner. Copy assignments into planner.

3. First draft of narrative due today – peer editing.

HW Revise your first draft and turn in final draft Wed.

Tues. class

1. Intro Changing Perceptions Unit Red Lit. bk. Focus on fiction pg.15.

2. Enter words in LA Spiral with a definition:

Literary terms – characterization, conflict, conclusion (resolution), plot, exposition, theme, point of view, and irony.

Words To Know for 1^st selection in the Lit. bk., “The Treasure of Lemon Brown”:

ajar, commence, gnarled, impromptu, ominous, tentatively, vault (verb).

HW Finish revising 1st draft of narrative. Hand in all 4 parts: planning pg., 1st draft, checklist, final draft.

Quiz on all vocabulary from today on Fri. / spelling and definition.

Wed. class

1. Hand in narrative and all the parts.

2. Preview Lemon Brown pg. 17 in Lit.book. Assign book numbers.

3. Read “Treasure of Lemon Brown” pg. 18.

HW Complete questions at end of story pg. 27 #1-4.

Thur. class

1. Share responses from pg. 27. Complete characterization chart from pg. 27 together.
